The 2021 African Individual Chess Championships is taking place on 17th May—28th May 2021 at Golden Peacock Hotel, Lilongwe, Malawi.

GM Amin Bassem and GM Adly Ahmed continued their winning streaks when it matters the most, by beating IM Bwalya Gillian and IM Silva David at the African Individuals Chess Championships. The two finest African Players are now leading with 7/8 points.

In third place is another Egyptian Grandmaster—Fawzy Adham who defeated FM Barrish Daniel and is half point behind the leaders. GM Bellahcene Bilel inflicted IM Rakotomaharo Fy Antenaina his second loss in the tournament. GM Hesham Abdelrahman outplayed FM Mwale Joseph and CM Chipanga Chiletso outwitted FM Abdulraheem Abdulrahman Akintoye in an equal endgame.

With one round to go, WIM February Jesse Nikki extends her lead with 6.5/8 after defeating WFM Mwango Lorita in the Women’s section of the ongoing 2021 African Individual Chess Championships. Untitled Malawian Shriyan Santosh Priyasha—1285 held WIM Nassr Lina to draw. WIM Nassr Lina and Motaazah Ayah are on 6/8 and share second and third place respectively.
