The FIDE World cup is slated to begin from July 10, 2021 then come to an end by August 8, 2021.

Malawi’s FM Mwale Joseph has been granted slot to play in the forthcoming FIDE World Cup in Sochi, Russia.

According to source, Chess Association of Malawi’s (ChessAM) President, Susan Namangale in a letter to FIDE, plea and requested a discretionary nomination, that considers Mwale Joseph for a world cup slot due to his performance, at the recently concluded 2021 African Individual Chess Championships that held in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Mwale Joseph who is currently Malawi’s Number one chess player on FIDE ranking scored 6/8 points and finished 5th behind 4 Egyptian Players at the 2021 African Individual Chess Championships.
