His love for chess was clear to everyone. He started the Orchid-Lekki Chess Club (OLCC), a place where chess enthusiasts could gather and enjoy the game together. Under his leadership, the OLCC organized chess tournaments with the Nigeria Chess Federation (NCF). These events were highly regarded nationally and continentally, displaying players’ talents and creating a strong sense of community.
Engr. Odega went beyond business to support chess. He generously utilized his hotel, Orchid Hotel, located in Lekki, to lodge players during tournaments, ensuring their comfort and well-being with exceptional hospitality and provisions.
