    It was an action packed sixth round in Lilongwe, as the top two boards in the Open’s section drew their games, and FM Mwale Joseph creates the biggest upset in the round by beating GM Bellahcene Bilel with the white pieces. With three rounds to go, the four (4) leaders with 5/6 are: GM Adly Ahmed, IM Rakotomaharo Fy Atenaine, GM Amin Bassem and Malawi’s Pride FM Mwale Joseph.

    In the Women’s section, WFM Mwango Lorita takes the lead with 5/6 after defeating WFM Ogbiyoyo Perpetual Eloho. WCM Charinda Kudzanayi and WIM Nassr Lina shared the point.

    South African’s February Jesse Nikki inflicted WGM Wafa Shahenda her first loss in the tournament. Also impressive is Botswana’s WFM Marape Naledi holding her own in this field without conceding.
