2019 African Youth Chess Championship Holds in Namibia

The 2019 African Youth Chess Championships (AYCC) has started in Windhoek, Namibia. The event which started on the 14th of December and will end on the 22nd December 2019 has about 250 players from 16 African federations, at the Windhoek Country Club Hotel & Casino, which is the selected venue for the event.

Last year, 170 players from 12 African countries were present in Kenya during the 10th AYCC. This year, more than a staggering 280 players, including 60 Namibians, from 18 African nations will take part as Namibia hosts the AYCC showcase.

The participating countries are Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Egypt, Gabon, Kenya, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Mozambique, Ghana.
