The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace 2021 Invitational Chess Tournament holds on the 6th of April at 9 am at the 29 Aerodrome close, College Road of the Mary’s Place Edo State.
The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace 2021 Invitational Chess tournament organized by Life and Chess Club is an annual celebration of the power of sport to drive social change, community development and to promote peace and understanding.
The Life and Chess Club is a Non-Governmental Organization and has over the years been instrumental to the development of Chess in Edo State. It is said that the successes of chess in Edo State can be traced directly to the activities of Life and Chess Club as they have been establishing Chess Clubs in many Secondary and Primary schools since 2010.
The activities of the Life and Chess Club goes beyond chess as they also carry out free skills acquisition training, medical outreaches, leadership seminars, academic and developmental programs that promote the development of sportsmen in Edo State.
To further promote this development, the Life and Chess Club in partnership with CSED Initiative have decided to mark this year’s International Day of Sport for Development and Peace with an Invitational Chess Tournament within schools, emphasizing female participation in Edo State.
