At the 7th International Francophone Chess Meetings that have just ended in Paris, the young 18-year-old Madagascar player Milanto Harifidy RALISON finished in third place in the tournament but shared first with 7.5 points out of 9 and a performance at 2553 points ELO.

This exceptional result allows him not only to harvest a standard of International Master but also to receive the title directly!

Indeed, since July 1, 2017, AIDEF has obtained from FIDE that the winners of the championships of the Francophonie benefit from the direct obtaining of titles. Click to view the table of direct titles.

The title of International Master is therefore attributed directly to the first three positions and a norm to the second and third:

MID

1st equal – title

Silver & Bronze – norm

In a congratulation speech given by Patrick VAN HOOLANDT, President of AIDE: Congratulations to Milanto Harifidy RALISON who becomes the third International Master in the history of Chess of Madagascar, I also congratulate the Madagascar Federation and its president Yves RAKOTOMAHARO.
