Deborah Quickpen continues her display of potential and strength in the world of chess in Nigeria, emerging as the highest ELO rating gainer in April 2025. Competing in both the 1st CYNTOCO International Junior (U-20) Chess Competition and the National Friend of Chess 2025 Under-2000 Category, Deborah racked up an impressive 139.6 ELO points from just 17 games—a remarkable feat by any standard. Right behind Deborah Quickpen on the list of high-gainers is OLISA, Tennyson Ewomazino the Super Zonal Champion accruing a total of 127.8 ELO ratings gain from the AFRICA ZONE 4.2 2025 OPEN, AFRICA SUPER ZONALS CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 OPEN and the NATIONAL FRIENDS OF CHESS 2025 OVER 2000 CATEGORY.

Now sitting at 2081, her career-high rating, Deborah Quickpen stands just a few steps away from entering the elite 2100 rating band, a milestone she now sets her sights on.
